A Palestinian couple resorts to an unusual way to conceive since the husband is detained in an Israeli jail where visits are restricted and physical interaction in the jail is prohibited. The couple decides to smuggle semen out of prison to help create a child, a practice used by Palestinian prisoners in reality.
Most of the film is shot in prison, portraying the lengths that people will go to in order to start a family. Using the term "bonboné" points to the happiness of children, but is also used as a symbol of a pregnant woman since the semen was smuggled in the candy wrapper. The prison scenes depict the entrances and checkpoints, the solitary confinement, and the visiting areas in Israeli prisons.
